Ticket #9935 in : Resolved

Hide the slider from the header

  • Nicholas Mack

    It’s been some time since I changed my site layout. I’m getting a fatal error when trying to activate the revolution slider. I think activating this plug in would allow me to change my header, the old slider is still on the header.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_error() in /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/framework/db.class.php:29 Stack trace: #0 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/framework/db.class.php(127): UniteDBRev->checkForErrors(‘fetch’) #1 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/revslider_params.class.php(42): UniteDBRev->fetch(‘wp_revslider_se…’) #2 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/revslider_operations.class.php(1070): RevSliderParams->getFieldFromDB(‘general’) #3 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/settings/general_settings.php(41): RevOperations::getGeneralSettingsValues() #4 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/framework/base_admin.class.php(343): require(‘/data/25/3/141/…’) #5 /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp in /data/25/3/141/110/3141273/user/3505331/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/framework/db.class.php on line 29

    Hi Nicholas,

    Thank you for the patience.

    Unfortunately, the URL is not correct/available. However, the error is coming from RevSlider. Please assure you are using the last theme version.

    Let me know if still, need assistance.

    I’m using version 2.0.2 of the Live! theme and version 4.2.1 of the RevSlider aren’t those the latest versions?

    Hi again Nicholas,

    No, you are using a theme version from 2014:

    http://updates.wolfthemes.com/changelog.php?theme=live

    1. Please go to Theme Forest > Downloads and download again the theme package.
    2. Make a full backup of your installation.
    3. Delete the present theme and RevSlider.
    4. Install the last theme and plugins version.

    Have a great weekend!

    I’ve updated as you instructed me to. Thanks, I wasn’t aware that I’d fallen so far behind with updates. However, I’m still unable to edit/delete the original slider located in my header. I’m not speaking of the new revolution slider and templates, which look awesome by the way. How do I edit the pictures in the old slider on the homepage? please check sharp9entertainment.com

    Hi again Nicholas,

    You are welcome 🙂

    That slider needs to be changed from WP Admin > Header Sliders.

    Have a great weekend!

    I’m in my WP Admin and I don’t see the option that I used to create the slider all those years ago. Was it taken away once Revolution Slider became a part of the Live! theme?

    I’ll add the screen shot just to show you it’s not there.

    Hi Nicholas,

    Thanks for the reply.

    Are two different sliders. Please disable all the third-party plugins and check again.

    Best regards.

    I disabled all plugins and the only thing that remains are my logo and the slider I’m trying to edit. see screen shot.

    I took a look at some past answered questions and I came across this CSS code. This code only gets rid of the images but I can still see the outline of the slider… see sceen shot.

    #logo-container{
    width:100%;
    text-align:center;
    }

    #hello{
    padding: 0px;
    }

    #hello .wrap{
    width: 100%;
    }

    /*.page-id-1160 #masthead .wrap{
    display: none;
    }*/

    /*.page-id-1160 #head-slider-container{
    display:none
    }*/

    .site-header .table-head{ /*remove .page-id-1160 from here to remove image header from all pages*/
    display: none;
    }

    @media screen and (max-width: 1024px){
    header#masthead {
    padding-bottom: 0px;
    }
    }

    Hi again Nicholas,

    That code has nothing to do with what you need to achieve.

    If want to remove the “Home slider”, go to WP Admin > Live > Options > Header and change the header type. See this screenshot for more details.

    Best regards.

    The header type is already set to standard.

    Hi Nicholas,

    Thank you for the patience.

    Not sure why this is happening on your installation. It may be related to a cache from the plugin you are using. I fixed this on your installation with this code:

    #head-slider-container {
        display: none;
    }

    Thanks for the patience on this.
